DENVER—Police are searching for three gunmen who forced a motorist out of a Ford Focus early Monday in Denver and took off with the vehicle.
The carjacking occurred about 12:30 a.m. Monday in north Denver.
Police say the suspects were armed with at least two handguns and a shotgun when they forced the driver out of the car. The trio claimed to be part of a street gang that has been targeted by law enforcement authorities for drive-by killings, cocaine and firearms trafficking and other crimes.
The carjacked driver was not hurt.
Denver police have not issued complete descriptions of the suspects.
