GREELEY, Colo.—Authorities say a 4-year-old boy wandered away from a Greeley day-care center and was found unharmed about three blocks away by a crew working on U.S. 85.
The state Department of Human Services said Wednesday it suspended the license of Kiddieland Learning Center over the incident. It wasn’t immediately clear how long the suspension would last.
Kiddieland Director Jason Wertz says he will fight the suspension. He declined further comment.
Police say a Colorado Department of Transportation crew found the boy on Aug. 23 walking toward the U.S. 85 Bypass.
The crew called police, who began checking nearby homes to try to find his family. Authorities say the day care center called police minutes later to report the boy missing.
The boy’s name hasn’t been released.
