DENVER—Gov. Bill Ritter says negotiations are continuing between business and labor groups over efforts to remove or defeat competing labor initiatives from the November ballot.
Ritter told business leaders Wednesday that both sides have until Thursday to ask that votes on the measures not be counted.
At issue are seven labor-related measures on the Nov. 4 ballot, which Ritter calls mutually assured destruction because they would hurt both sides.
One, championed by brewery heir Jonathan Coors, would prohibit mandatory union membership.
Labor groups countered by getting four worker-friendly measures on the ballot that worry business groups.
