If you see women leaving the daytime shelter The Gathering Place with some snap in their step, it’s not because they’ve got Bette Davis’ eyes. They’re wearing Kathie Lee Gifford’s bras.
The unlikely pairing is the work of Cindy Johnson, owner of SOL (Store of Lingerie) and expert bra-fitter.
She was on “Today” last month with Gifford — and after fitting a few audience members, she fitted Gifford off air, who, it was discovered, needed smaller bras.
And that, of course, meant Gifford didn’t need the 14 bras hanging around her dressing room. They were too big. Johnson told Gifford about her reach-out program that gives “gently used” bras to women at The Gathering Place. She does this every month and accepts donations of bras all year — but she concentrates on October.
Gifford loved the idea — and sent Johnson home with the bucket of bras. Gifford’s will go into the donation baskets, maybe with a “K” on them.
“I’ve gotten some of the most touching thank-you notes from these women,” says Johnson.
And thanks to Kathy Lee.

The guys have more six-packs than Flying Dog Brewery — and that includes Ludden, 27, a pro kayaker from Gypsum.
We’ve profiled the guy many times in The Denver Post. He’s not under the radar in these parts anyway.
Here are the deets from his profile:
Three words that describe him: “Passionate, funny and outgoing.”
Catch-his-eye outfit: “Cowboy boots and jeans.”
Should a woman make the first move? “Yes! It tells me she’s confident, which is attractive.”
Ideal first date: “I’ll take her flying in my plane. I’ll see how well she does outside her comfort zone.”
Can a hookup turn into a relationship? “Definitely!”
Desperate voters.
The disparate trio of Eva Longoria from “Desperate Housewives,” Adam Rodrigues from “CSI: Miami” and Kal Penn from “Harold and Kumar” teamed up in Denver on Saturday night to raise some money and enthusiasm for Barack Obama. They landed at the Corner Office for a fundraising party; tix $50-$1,000. So who were the youngish Dem organizers of the bash? Beth Davis, Brad Farber, James Gleeson, Josh Hanfling, Aaron Hyatt, Becca Loegering, Darcy Liberty, Joe Neguse, Rachel Romer and David Winkler.
