METAIRIE, La. — Saints starting cornerback Tracy Porter will miss the rest of his rookie season after dislocating his right wrist during Monday night’s game against Minnesota.

Porter had surgery on the wrist, and the Saints decided Tuesday afternoon to place him on injured reserve.

Porter hurt the wrist while attempting to defend a desperation heave by Minnesota’s Gus Frerotte. Bernard Berrian caught the pass for the tying touchdown as he collided with teammate Aundrae Allison, Porter and Saints safety Josh Bullocks near the goal line.

The Vikings went on to win, 30-27.

Pittsburgh is off this week, and Reed said he should be fine for the Oct. 19 game at Cincinnati.

Defensive end Brett Keisel, out for three weeks with an injured calf, practiced and might be ready to return.

Running back Willie Parker, who has missed two games with a sprained knee, has said he would play against Cincinnati.
