GREELEY — Mark Strodtman, who was arrested last month in Mexico on a Weld County warrant for theft and fraud, has been booked into Weld County Jail.
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office said Strodtman was booked into jail Thursday afternoon and is being held without bond.
Strodtman was indicted in March by a Weld County grand jury after a year-long investigation by the district attorney’s office.
He was charged with a pattern of racketeering, 11 counts of theft of $15,000 or more, and 11 counts of forgery.
Strodtman built homes in Greeley earlier this decade. He collected his money but left his customers stuck with mortgages they couldn’t afford. Because the appraisals were inflated, the buyers were unable to sell their properties to avoid foreclosure.
