Kenny Chesney, “Lucky Old Sun” (BNA)

The Jimmy Buffet of pop-country returns with another mellow set of tunes designed to play in the background while you fantasize about living in a Corona commercial.

Of Montreal, “Skeletal Lamping” (Polyvinyl)

“Lamping” is the most ambitious, bizarre and ultimately frustrating artifact that Kevin Barnes’ mutated songwriting gifts have birthed. The mix of funk, glam and indie rock tugs alternately at pretension and brilliance but never fully commits to either.

“High School Musical 3: Senior Year — Original Soundtrack” (Disney)

Whitewashed high school fables continue to enthrall as much as the darker stuff, and this tween-oriented franchise is about as featureless as it gets. Still, fans will enjoy the familiar smack of the over-the-top songs as a way of reliving the movie.
