LOS ANGELES — Jury selection is underway in music producer Phil Spector’s murder retrial.
Spector is charged with second-degree murder in the 2003 death of 40-year-old actress Lana Clarkson. She died of a gunshot in the mouth while sitting in the foyer of Spector’s mansion. Spector’s attorneys suggest that Clarkson shot herself.
Spector’s first trial ended a year ago when jurors deadlocked, with the majority favoring conviction.
