LITTLETON, Colo.—Littleton police are accusing a soccer coach of kidnapping and sexually assaulting one his 13-year-old players.

Stephen Martin Myers is being held at the Jefferson County jail after his arrest Friday. Police say the 45-year-old “abducted” the girl and tried to keep her whereabouts secret.

It wasn’t immediately clear when the alleged assault took place.

Myers taught goalkeeping skills at a nonprofit league called the Littleton Soccer Club. An online biography shows he previously played professionally in Oklahoma for the Tulsa Roughnecks in 1984-85 and then the Oklahoma City Warriors until 1992.
