DENVER—The U.S. Marshals Service now says it has arrested 57 people in a roundup of sex offenders, including 11 on the state’s “Top 100 Sex Offender” list.

Authorities updated the totals Tuesday. Earlier, they reported 51 arrests, eight of them on the top 100 list. The roundup started last weekend.

Suspects were arrested on charges including sexual assault, Internet sexual exploitation of a child, Internet luring, possession of child pornography, failure to register as a sex offender and immigration violations.

The Marshals Service says 42 agencies participated in the roundup.

Congress two years ago gave the marshals the authority to assist in cases involving sex offenders who fail to register.
