LITTLETON — Students of two elementary schools will be forced to attend other schools next year, and Littleton Public Schools will decide what to do with those buildings.
The two elementary schools targeted for closure by the school board are Ames and Whitman. Ames students will attend classes at Franklin and Peabody elementaries, while Whitman students will be assigned to Moody, Highland and Runyon elementaries.
The board’s decision comes after almost two years of study by a task force charged with coming up with a plan to deal with the district’s declining enrollment. The board is scheduled to formally approve the plan on Thursday.
