Two people were hurt in a two-alarm fire that broke out yesterday in a Fort Collins duplex, authorities say.

The victims, whose names were not released, declined to be taken to the hospital, according to Capt. Patrick Love of the Poudre Fire Authority.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1738 Centennial Road at 3:30 p.m. Smoke was coming out of the attic, Love said.

The fire had started outside the home and spread to the attic, he said. Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to attack the flames.

Twenty-six firefighters from five engine companies and two ladder truck companies extinguished the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Love said.
