A trained Air Force team detonated six sticks of dynamite at Buckley Air Force this morning.
The dynamite has become unstable, and therefore, it would be unsafe to ship it to another location for disposal, according to Lt. Col. Nancy Staats, 460th Space Wing Safety officer.
Members of the public were warned that they could hear an explosion at about 10 a.m., but there would be no danger to the base or surrounding community.
