An early morning blaze on the roof of La Quinta Inn and Suites in Greenwood Village forced the evacuation of the hotel, but no one was hurt, authorities say.
The fire at 9009 E. Arapahoe Road was reported at 4:43 a.m. Saturday. When firefighters arrived they could see flames shooting up from the roof, said Andy Lyon, spokesman for the South Metro Fire Rescue Authority.
The firefighters were able to keep the fire confined to the roof, but there was heavy smoke on the third and fourth floors of the four-story hotel, Lyon said.
