AURORA — Aurora police are investigating whether excessive speed or alcohol were factors in a one-vehicle crash that killed a 19-year-old man.
The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Thursday at Gun Club Road and East Jewell Ave.
Police say the man was driving a Ford Explorer northbound on Gun Club when he ran off the right side of the road and slammed into a traffic signal pole.
The driver was taken to Aurora Medical Center South, where he was later pronounced dead.
No other vehicles were involved. The victim was the only person inside the Explorer.
His name has not been released.
