AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Junior Salters’ career-high 28 points led Wofford to a victory in the finale of the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic on Sunday.
Salters, who was named the tournament’s MVP, was 7-of-9 on 3-pointers.
The Falcons (3-1) led by nine points with 2:34 left in the first half before Wofford tied it up at 29 at halftime. The Terriers (2-2) used a 13-0 spurt early in the second half to grab control.
Noah Dahlman scored seven of his 12 points during the decisive run that put Wofford ahead 44-33.
Air Force got no closer than nine after that and trailed by as many as 20.
Grant Parker’s 15 points led the Falcons, and Matt Holland added 13.
Texas-Pan American 87, CU-Colorado Springs 78
AIR FORCE ACADEMY — Nick Weiermiller scored 19 points and had eight assists to lead Texas-Pan American in the Minton Classic consolation game.
Nick Weaver led CU-Colorado Springs with 15 points, including two 3-pointers. Tommy Klausner added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Women
Gonzaga 68, Wyoming 58
LARAMIE — Heather Bowman and Courtney Vandersloot combined for 46 points to lead the Bulldogs, who are off to their best start in school history at 5-0.
The Bulldogs used an 8-3 run to open up a double-figure lead at 63-53 and put the game out of reach with 1:22 remaining.
Kristen Scheffler scored 21 points for Wyoming.
