BOULDER — A fire that left two women critically burned and 12 apartments gutted started on a stovetop, investigators said Monday.
Food left unattended on the range in a second-floor apartment was pegged as the cause of the Nov. 15 blaze at the Fairways Apartment. Boulder authorities said they would not press charges, calling the blaze an accident.
The apartment’s resident, Susan Moi, 21, suffered burns over 30 percent of her body and is hospitalized in critical condition. Kaianna Kadivnik, 26, who lived on the third floor, is listed in critical condition with burns over 70 percent of her body.
