iPhone addicts have another reason to stroke their screens this winter with the introduction of the Snocator application ($5.99).

The program uses interactive trail maps of nearly every major ski area in North America to show users exactly where they are on the mountain. Skiers can plan their runs, find the nearest spot to warm up or grab a bite to eat, and it soon will have the ability to tracks runs, speed and vertical over the course of a day on the slopes. Off the mountain, Snocator provides the latest snow reports (sorted by largest snowfall and proximity to users), current weather conditions and views of slopes from mountain- cam images.

After it’s downloaded, the application works anywhere iPhone users have a data signal or wifi connection.

Get it: At the iPhone App Store under the “Sports” category, by texting “snow” to 90999 from your iPhone or at the apps store at .
