Getting your player ready...

Nuggets forward/center Chris Andersen said he expects to return to action Saturday.

“That’s what they’re telling me,” he said today.

What kind of action, however, remains to be seen.

Andersen, who has missed the past eight games due to a fractured rib, has done some work on the court but none of it has come with contact. The only chance for him to get a full-contact practice in would be Tuesday, because the Nuggets play four games in the following five days. Saturday is the first game of a back-to-back set, at Minnesota, so he could participate in a shoot-around.

Anderson was injured Nov. 9.

Nuggets coach George Karl said, “Chris looks great,” but acknowledged there still is a steep learning curve in terms of learning the new offensive philosophies and meshing with new point guard Chauncey Billups.
