BROOMFIELD — The driver of a truck that struck and killed a Legacy High School student will not be charged, officials said Monday.

Chris Reagan, 18, of Westminster crashed his car in the northbound lanes of Interstate 25 at 11:55 p.m. Saturday near the E-470 interchange. He got out of his car and was hit by a semi in the southbound lanes as he crossed the highway. The semi driver swerved, but the rear wheels of the truck’s trailer hit Reagan, killing him, police said.

Regan was a senior and soccer star at Legacy High in Thornton, according to the Adams 12 School District.

Friends held a candlelight vigil Monday night.
