BROOMFIELD, Colo.—Police say a semi-truck driver will likely not face charges in connection with an accident on Interstate 25 north of Denver that killed an 18-year-old man.
Broomfield police say Christopher Reagan of Westminster was driving northbound on I-25 shortly before midnight late Saturday when his vehicle collided with a concrete jersey barrier. Reagan then got out of his vehicle and attempted to cross the interstate on foot.
Sgt. Heidi Walts says the driver of a southbound semitrailer saw Reagan and swerved but the trailer’s rear wheels struck the teen, killing him.
Walts says the truck driver immediately stopped and called police.
Reagan was a senior at Legacy High School in Broomfield, where counselors were being made available Monday for students and staff.
