seemed an unlikely figure when we burst onto the reggae scene nearly a half decade ago: a Hasidic Jew that inserted Jewish themes into his amalgam of traditional reggae and hip-hop. Of course, the Pennsylvania native has gained accolades and a fervent fanbase since then, as he proved during his Denver stop at the on Saturday.
Reverb photographer stopped by the show to snap a few pics and check in with this report: “ opened up the show to a crowd of young fans. He played a nice acoustic set and took requests from Matisyahu himself. Trevor had extended his set to cover the time slot for , who could not make the night’s show due to snow conditions. Matisyahu then took the stage in his traditional apparel and began to rock the crowd. He powered through his set list as the young fans sang and danced along.”
