TULSA, Okla.—Tulsa police have arrested a man wanted for more than 20 years in Colorado after disappearing when he was convicted of felony theft.

Tulsa police say 66-year-old Clifford Stewart was arrested Thursday at a Tulsa apartment complex where Colorado authorities had received a tipped he was living.

Authorities in Colorado say Stewart disappeared in 1985 after being convicted of stealing $1.9 million dollars and ordered to pay restitution.

Details of the crime were not immediately available.

Investigator Richard Stark with the district attorney’s office in Colorado Springs says Stewart was their third-most wanted person because the length of time he was on the run.

Stewart is now in custody in Tulsa pending extradition.
