A traffic accident this morning involving a semi resulted in a fuel spill and shut down a busy highway ramp this morning.
The accident happened before 6:30 a.m. on a ramp of the C-470 and South Santa Fe Drive interchange, said Fritz Homann, a spokesman with the Colorado Department of Transportation.
The ramp from northbound Santa Fe to westbound C-470 was shut down because of 60 to 80 gallons of fuel on the road, said Trooper David Hall of the Colorado State Patrol.
Hall said a Jeep Cherokee sideswiped a tanker truck and the tank ruptured.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to Littleton Hospital with minor injuries, and the semi driver was not hurt, Hall said.
The ramp was shut down while a State Patrol hazardous materials crew cleaned up the road.
The ramp reopened about 9:45 a.m., according to CDOT.
