A 17-year-old accused of body-slamming 7-year-old Zoe Garcia and causing her death last December faces up to 48 years in prison after he pleaded guilty Monday in Weld County District Court.
Lamar Roberts pleaded guilty to child abuse — knowingly/recklessly causing death, said Weld County District Attorney spokeswoman Jennifer Finch. He is to be sentenced Jan. 16.
Heather Trujillo, also 17, earlier pleaded guilty for her role in her sister’s death and must complete six years in the youth offender system.
