A Denver payroll manager has been charged with stealing more than $3 million from the oil and gas company she worked for by creating phony employees on the books, Denver prosecutors announced today.
Jennifer Elaine Bundy, 34, was arrested Tuesday on felony theft and computer crime charges.
The Denver District Attorney’s office said Bundy used the identifies of former employees and created at least 25 nonexistent employees, then had the paychecks deposited in direct-deposit accounts she controlled from 2001 until recently.
She remains in Denver County Jail under a $1 million bond.
