PHILADELPHIA — Sixers forward Elton Brand will be sidelined a month because of a dislocated shoulder.

Team officials say the 76ers’ leading scorer has a fracture and tear in his right shoulder but will not need surgery. Brand, who is averaging 15.9 points, was hurt Wednesday night in a 93-88 win over Milwaukee.

Grizzlies waive Walker

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Grizzlies waived former all-star forward Antoine Walker.

In his 13th season, Walker has averaged 17.5 points and 7.7 rebounds in 893 career games. He played for the Celtics, Hawks, Mavericks, Heat and Timberwolves.

Boozer has second MRI

SALT LAKE CITY — Jazz forward Carlos Boozer had a second MRI on a quadriceps tendon injury that has kept the all-star out of 15 games.

Results weren’t expected until today. Boozer, who told on Wednesday he will opt out of the final year of his contract, injured the tendon above his left knee Nov. 19 against the Bucks.

Warriors transfer Ellis

OAKLAND, Calif. — Monta Ellis has been transferred from the suspended list to the inactive list by the Warriors, who waived second-round draft pick Richard Hendrix to make room on their roster.

Ellis was suspended for 30 games without pay after he seriously injured his left leg in an offseason crash on a motorized scooter.

The suspension expired with Wednesday’s loss at Indiana, but Ellis and the Warriors haven’t said when he’ll be ready to return to action.

Jamison questionable

WASHINGTON — Wizards forward Antawn Jamison has a strained left thumb and could miss tonight’s game against the 76ers.
