Some were worried that Hollywood types might skip Aspen this year. You know, because of that economy thing. But nope.

On Monday, Hilary Swank and her boyfriend/agent John Campisi were spotted on the slopes, taking in the epic snow conditions.

And Melanie Griffith and her mom, Tippi Hedren, were snapped shopping in downtown Aspen this week, mom in faux leopard, Melanie in a quilted parka. Griffith and husband Antonio Banderas have long had homes in Aspen. Banderas and George Hamilton were spotted at the Aspen Club.

Jack Nicholson and daughter Honey Hollman went shopping at The Gap.

Despite berating the paparazzi last year for ruining her town, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell were snapped skiing Aspen Mountain.

And Mariah Carey never lets you down. Last year she got stuck in curbside snow in her heels. This year she was better prepped in bright red parka, black ski pants and feather-topped red Dior boots — with dog, Jack, and husband, Nick Cannon, in tow. Nick reportedly rented a multimillion-dollar chalet for the holiday as an early Christmas present. Mimi loves Aspen, but has anyone ever seen her ski?

Ivana Trump is down to host Jason and Haley Binn’s annual Niche Media New Year’s Eve party at the Hotel Jerome.

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton tells E!, “I love going skiing so we’re going to be going to Aspen, and then afterwards my sister and I are going to take some friends and go to Sydney in Australia to host a huge party for New Year.”

That’ll be some party in Sydney. The Bongo Virus New Year’s Eve Bash will stream out to the world in 3-D at — and your avatar can be there! Who says you aren’t a star?

Tricia.

Actress Jenn Gotzon, who plays Tricia Nixon in “Frost/Nixon,” is in Colorado for the holidays with husband Chris Armstrong, visiting his family in Loveland.

Sure, she plans to ski in Breck and Vail — but she’s also hoping she can get to Aspen on Dec. 31 for the Aspen Film’s Academy Screening of “Frost/Nixon” — which opens wide today. “And to have the movie open today, well, it’s such a great Christmas present,” she says.

Free form gone.

I am sad to bring you the news that my old pal Bill Ashford died Dec. 10, the 66-year-old former Denver deejay who helmed the legendary free- form rock station KFML in the ’70s. We had some serious laughs, and I’m sure many of you remember Bill and the station.

You can still hear some of his programing at .
