LOVELAND — A small airplane made an emergency landing on a road on the northeast edge of Loveland after its engine failed.

The plane landed on East 37th Street about a mile from the Fort Collins/Loveland airport at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Pilot John Stewart of Dallas said the Cessna Centurion T-210 lost power while approaching the airport, forcing him to put it on the ground.

Airport operations manager Larry Mack said the single-engine plane landed on its landing gear and hit “a couple” of road signs.
