Aspen’s Casey Puckett kicked off the World Cup skicross season by finishing fourth in St. Johann, Austria, on Monday. Switzerland’s Michael Schmid won the event, followed by Austrian Andreas Matt in second and Tommy Eliasson of Sweden in third.
“I’m very happy with my result for a couple reasons,” Puckett said. “One, I was unsure of how I was feeling with my back and my knee coming in to this. Two, the course was extremely difficult. Considering that I qualified 16th, to end up fourth was really awesome.”
Beaver Creek series starts.
The ninth Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series will make its way to Beaver Creek Resort beginning Sunday.
As the largest annual snowshoe series of its kind in North America, the series will continue on three more Sundays throughout the winter: Feb. 8, March 8 and April 5. Season series passes and first event pre-registration are available at .
