Broncos rookie left tackle Ryan Clady might have been snubbed in Pro Bowl voting, but on Friday he was named second-team all-pro by The Associated Press.
The all-pro team is not divided into separate squads for the AFC and NFC.
Clady was the only Bronco named to the second team, and none made the first team.
Receiver Brandon Marshall, center Casey Wiegmann and cornerback Champ Bailey each received one vote at their positions.
Clady, the Broncos’ No. 1 pick in April’s draft, allowed only half a sack this season and finished third in the AFC’s rookie of the year voting.
Bergen signs.
The Broncos have signed an eighth player to a future contract since the team’s season ended two weeks ago.
The newest addition is tight end Adam Bergen, who last played for Dallas in 2007.
Bergen, 6-feet-4, 267 pounds, was cut by the Baltimore Ravens before the 2008 season started and spent this season out of football. Bergen also previously played for the Cardinals in 2005-06.
Six players from the Broncos’ 2008 practice squad have been signed to future contracts, as well as former Colorado State offensive lineman Clint Oldenburg.
Players who sign future contracts will be officially added to the team’s roster when the postseason is complete, and they will participate in offseason workouts with the club.
