DENVER—The man accused of killing Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams has lost all jail privileges until Feb. 8 after a Denver County jail board determined he had a homemade knife in his cell.
Authorities say they found a plastic spoon sharpened into a weapon in the cell of Willie D. Clark last month. He was charged with introducing contraband, a felony.
Clark told Denver’s KUSA-TV in December that he was framed and that he never had the knife, or shank, in his cell.
The television station reported the board didn’t believe him, and revoked Clark’s commissary, contact visit, personal call and recreation privileges.
Clark faces murder charges in the drive-by shooting death of Williams on New Year’s Day 2007 and the 2006 death of a witness in another case.
