Jeffco Credit Union and Westerra Credit Union, which serve the Jeffco Public Schools and Denver Public Schools, respectively, announced plans Wednesday to merge their operations.
Through Westerra, Jeffco credit union members will have access to 11 branches across the metro area and a network that includes 800 surcharge-free ATMs. The local member-owned credit union, organized in 1934 by eight Denver school teachers, anticipates regulatory pre-approval in the next several months, followed by a vote of Jeffco Credit Union members to join Westerra’s state charter.
