NORTHGLENN — Northglenn police arrested a man Monday who had taped his dog’s mouth shut to stop it from barking.
After someone reported a yellow dog had duct tape around its muzzle, police went to 10500 Marion St. They found the dog, named Jay, and arrested Michael Dennis Reust, 38.
“Mr. Reust said the dog would not stop barking so he placed the tape on the dog’s muzzle,” according to a police statement.
Jay is in good condition and has been released from a veterinary hospital and transferred to the Adams County Animal Shelter. Reust has turned over ownership of the dog to the shelter. Tom McGhee, The Denver Post
