ASPEN, Colo.—An Aspen woman who says police sedated her against her will has settled a lawsuit with a jailer for $60,000.

Pitkin County Sheriff’s Deputy Walter Geister agreed last week to the settlement with Bronwyn Anglin. The woman says she was drugged against her will in 2004 after getting into an argument with authorities in a friend’s domestic disturbance incident.

Anglin was in a maximum security cell and restrained while medics forcibly injected her with 10 milligrams of the high-risk sedative droperidol. That’s four times the recommended dosage, the Aspen Daily News reports.

Authorities say Anglin was violent and that the sedation was appropriate.
