Inside of a one room warehouse, Denver band took the stage to an eagerly awaiting crowd. They made a gutsy move Friday night by playing their newly recorded album in track order. It was a worthy experience for their fans who have been anticipating the release of their first full-length on Atlantic Records, whom they signed with in October of 2007.
This was the first time Meese played the Atlas Theater, which opened its doors in Greeley about six months ago. Despite the new venue’s technical issues with sound, Meese was able to shrug it off with the audience hardly sensing it — or maybe they were too captivated to notice.
The soon-to-be-titled album features 13 songs, three of which are old favorites from their “The Start of It EP.” The previewed album, set to be released this spring, proved to be worth the wait. This was Meese’s last show in Colorado before a two week tour of the Midwest in March, including a stop at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas.
