GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—CNBC’s coverage of a U.S. House of Representatives hearing regarding fallen money manager Bernard Madoff has led to a delay in the interview of Grand Junction Mayor Gregg Palmer.
Palmer was to have appeared on the cable and satellite television network’s “Squawk on the Street” program Wednesday to discuss how his community is surviving—or thriving—during the recession. Grand Junction is one of five cities across the country chosen to be highlighted on the program.
Grand Junction communications coordinator Sam Rainguet says Palmer’s segment has been rescheduled for shortly after 8 a.m. Monday.
Madoff was arrested in December after allegedly confessing to bilking investors out of more than $50 billion.
