A shootout in Montbello led to both wounded men running to nearby homes for help just after 5:30 p.m. today, Denver police said.
One man died soon after they were both rushed to University of Colorado Hospital. The other, shot in the face, was in critical condition this evening.
Their names and ages were not released.
Police received separate 9-1-1 calls related to each man, after they showed up at different homes n the 5600 block of Victor Lane, said Detective Sharon Avendaño.
A third man was detained for questioning, she said.
“Whether the two men actually knew each other hasn’t yet been determined,” she said just before 9 p.m.
She said no more information in the investigation would be released until Thursday.
