SAN LUIS, Colo.—A southern Colorado man has been ordered to stand trial on a charge of second-degree murder in the shooting death of his 20-year-old son.

Bonifacio Lobato of San Luis is accused of shooting Dominic Lobato in an argument over money last September.

A judge ruled Wednesday that the case should go to trial.

Lobato’s attorneys have suggested the shooting may have been an accident or otherwise unintentional.

Lobato is free on a $200,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 19.
