COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—The El Paso County coroner’s office has ruled the death of a woman found dead by a school bus driver near Schriever Air Force Base a homicide.
Authorities say 35-year-old Jennifer Warren died from a gunshot wound. Her body was found in a ditch along a road near the base outside Colorado Springs at about 7:15 a.m. Monday.
Lt. Lari Sevene says the woman appeared to have been shot and killed along the road late Sunday or early Monday.
An Ellicott School District bus driver spotted the body, then pulled forward so children wouldn’t see it and notified bus dispatchers, who called 911.
Sevene says Warren was fully clothed, but didn’t appear to know that she was going to be outside, based on what she was wearing.
