The Hockey Hall of Fame wants Mike Green’s record- setting stick, but the Washington Capitals defenseman is reluctant to comply. “I can’t part with that one,” Green said. “They wanted it right after (Saturday’s) game, and I wasn’t going to give it up.” Green’s eight-game goal- scoring streak, the longest by a defenseman in NHL history, ended Sunday. He scored every goal during the streak with the same stick. “That one felt the best I’ve ever used,” he said. “It just comes off the blade good. You don’t have to look down.
