Give your puppy a good start, and avoid problems later.
That’s the logic behind a training clinic for young pointers and retrievers scheduled April 4 at Kiowa Creek Sporting Club in Bennett.
John Perizzolo of Sweetwater Labs will orchestrate the retrievers while John Augustine of Nickel Creek Gun Dogs will direct the pointers during an all-day program that will dedicate part of the proceeds to Pheasants Forever.
In addition to basic confidence drills, pups will be introduced to birds, guns, water, heavy cover, whistle work, quartering and force-fetch retrieves. The fee is $75, call 303-838-9618.
