A Denver city payroll clerk has been formally charged with stealing information from other city employees and using it to open bank accounts and credit cards in their names for his personal use, prosecutors said today.
Ray Taylor, 36, has been missing since an arrest warrant was issued Jan. 26.
He faces 18 felony counts of identity theft, nine felony counts of criminal impersonation and one felony theft charge.
Taylor is accused of using the names, dates of birth and other personal information from the personnel records of 18 city employees, according to the district attorney’s office. The amount he is accused of taking was not immediately known, as investigators are still in the process of contacting alleged victims.
