LONDON — A judge dismissed the jury Wednesday in the trial of a group of British Muslims accused of plotting to blow up transatlantic passenger jets, citing legal reasons.

Eight men, between 22 and 30 years old, are on trial at London’s high-security Woolwich Crown Court.

A new jury is expected to be sworn in within the next couple of days and the case is likely to resume this week. So far, only prosecutors have had a chance to present a case in court — and they will begin again when a new jury is sworn in.
