DENVER—Investigators say alcohol and drugs are not suspected as contributing factors in a collision that left a 37-year-old pedestrian dead in unincorporated Arapahoe County.

The Colorado State Patrol says Sergy V. Nagoga of Denver was hit by a 2002 Acura MDX sport utility vehicle shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday while he was crossing East Florida Avenue near South Parker Road.

Nagoga died at the scene.

Trooper David Hall says Nagoga wasn’t crossing at a crosswalk and there was “very minimal lighting” in the area.

Hall says the patrol has not yet determined whether charges will be filed against the 36-year-old Denver resident who was driving the Acura.

The driver was not hurt.
