AURORA, Colo.—Four suspects are in custody after one allegedly fired shots at two Aurora police officers on duty in an unmarked vehicle.

Aurora police spokeswoman Det. Shannon Youngquist Lucy says a pursuit began after the apparent driver of an SUV fired shots toward the plainclothes officers’ vehicle at about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The SUV crashed through a fence, hit an electrical box and a tree before being pinned by another patrol car nearly 4 1/2 miles from the shooting scene.

Officers arrested the alleged shooter, 30-year-old Manuel Adrian Diaz, and a passenger, 18-year-old Lorenzo Jesus Torres. The names of the two other suspects weren’t immediately available.

Two patrol officers and an SUV passenger were treated and released for non shooting-related injuries.
