The Colorado Golf Hall of Fame will welcome four new members after voting Thursday: Keith Schneider, Jill McGill, Don Fox and Ruth Harrison (posthumously). The annual induction and dinner is Aug. 23.
Schneider was the head pro, then the director of golf, at Castle Pines Golf Club since its opening in 1981, supposedly “on loan” from Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield (Ohio) Village Golf Club.
McGill, a Denver native and a Cherry Creek High School graduate, has been a LPGA regular since 1994 after an All-America career at University of Southern California.
Fox was the state’s first PGA master professional and was the head pro at Loveland G.C. for 31 years.
Harrison won the state women’s amateur from 1928-30 and won numerous club championships at the Denver Country Club.
McGinn out as CSU-Pueblo offensive coordinator.
The CSU-Pueblo football team is looking for a new offensive coordinator after Wayne McGinn was released from his contract. Before his one season with the Thunderwolves, McGinn was head coach at Adams State, his alma mater, for eight seasons. Before his stint in Alamosa, he was the defensive coordinator at Western State.
This story has been corrected in this online archive. Originally it had an incorrect alma matter for Jill McGill.
