Denver-based Frontier Airlines reported an operating profit in January of $2.8 million but a consolidated net loss of $29.7 million for the month.
Frontier, the second-largest carrier at Denver International Airport, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last April and anticipates emerging from bankruptcy in the first half of this year.
The report to the Securities and Exchange Commission included reorganization expenses of $28.3 million, the majority of which being unsecured claims allowed by the court.
Excluding reorganization items and mark-to-market fuel-hedge transactions, Frontier would have reported an operating loss of $400,000 and a consolidated net loss of $2.8 million.
