The office of Gov. Bill Ritter today announced the second round of transportation projects around Colorado that will be funded with federal stimulus money. It will deliver about $194 million to 30 projects, mostly in the Denver area.

Earlier this week, Ritter announced the first batch of 18 projects, worth about $145 million. The second round of projects includes:

Region 6 (Denver area)

  •  I-70 between Peña Boulevard and Tower Road: Installs median cable guardrail to prevent crossover accidents. Cost: $400,000
  •  Interstate 225 at East Colfax Avenue: This is the first phase of a project to reconstruct the interchange. This phase will build the southbound ramp from Colfax to I-225. Cost: $1.1 million
  •  I-76 over Union Pacific Railroad and Colorado 22: Replaces two bridges on I-76. Cost: $13.5 million
  •  I-70 between Kipling Street and Wadsworth Boulevard: Resurfaces about 3 miles of I-70 in asphalt. Cost: $1.8 million
  •  Belleview Avenue between South Federal Boulevard and South Santa Fe Drive: Resurfaces about one mile of Belleview in asphalt. Cost: $1.2 million
  •  South University Boulevard between C-470 and Arapahoe Road: Resurfaces about 1.5 miles of University in asphalt. Cost: $2.8 million
  •  West Colfax Avenue between Kipling Street and Sheridan Boulevard: Resurfaces about 3 miles of Colfax in asphalt. Cost: $4.7 million
  •  I-25 between 6th and 23rd avenues. Resurfacing. Cost: $5.5 million
  •  C-470 from Santa Fe Drive to I-25. Resurfacing. Cost: $33 million
  •  Grade separation of Pecos Street at Union Pacific Railroad track near West 60th Ave. Cost: $10 million
  •  I-76 and 96th Avenue roundabouts. Cost: $2.5 million
  •  Denver Union Station renovations. Cost: $18.6 million
  •  U.S. 36, 120th Avenue connection. Cost: $4 million
  •  New interchange, I-70 and Central Park Blvd. in Stapleton area. Cost: $12 million
  •  Dry Creek bike/pedestrian bridge. Cost: $1.4 million
  •  C-470 bike path rehabilitation. Cost: $7 million.
  •  I-25/U.S. 36/C-470 ramp metering. $500,000
  •  U.S. 6/Colorado 93/Colorado 58/ Colorado 128 at Simms St., signal installation and replacement. Cost: $1 million
  •  I-25/ Alameda Avenue bridge over Santa Fe Drive. Bridge replacement. Cost: $22.1 million
  •  I-225/ Colfax Avenue/17th Avenue Interchange reconstruction. Cost: $11.3 million
  •  West 86th Parkway bike lanes in Arvada. Cost: $300,000
  •  Bikeway enhancements in Denver. Cost: $250,000
  •  U.S. 36 trail in Westminster. Cost: $300,000

    Region 1

  •  U.S. 85, C-470 to Castle Rock, widening and other improvements. Cost: $5.4 million
  •  U.S. 285, Foxton Road to Park County/Jefferson County line, grade-separated interchange at Elk Creek Road. Cost: $6.6 million

    Region 4

  •  U.S. 36, Estes Park to Lyons, surface improvements. Cost: $2.5 million
  •  Colorado 52 at Boulder Creek, bridge replacement. Cost: $11 million
  •  U.S. 36 and Broadway in Boulder, traffic signal improvements. Cost: $500,000

    Additional spending:

  •  Summit County transit fleet maintenance facility: $10.3 million
  •  Bus replacement at transit agencies around state: $1.7 million
