There are plenty of opportunities for businesses to remain innovative despite the struggling economy, according to author and business forecaster Jack Uldrich.

Technology and new innovations within the energy and health- care fields, each critical to Denver, are to figure prominently in Uldrich’s address at the Rocky Mountain Corporate Growth Conference beginning Wednesday at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in Arapahoe County.

“Companies need to start planning today in order to take advantage of some of these opportunities,” Uldrich said. “If you aren’t taking advantage of some of these opportunities, I guarantee your competitors are.”

The conference offers insight from people’s real-world experiences, said Sherry Law, founder of Evergreen Communication and a board member of ACG-Denver, which is hosting the conference.

“Especially in an economy like we have now, you can learn so much from other people about what works and what doesn’t work,” Law said.

The six panel discussions will include executives sharing practical experiences, and service providers will network with midlevel businesspeople. Other scheduled speakers include Terry Jones, president and chief executive of Travel ocity, and Judi Sheppard Missett, founder and CEO of Jazzercise Inc.

“It’s just so important to get out there and communicate,” Law said.

More information and registration materials can be found at rmcgc . Tickets are $399 for ACG members, $499 for nonmembers.
